Individual Work

Our room has been very busy since the start of school. Now that everyone has settled in we are able to begin more individualized work.  This is when Ms. Carter or myself help a child select an activity that focuses on where she/he is in skills. It is natural in preschool for some children to be learning letter recognition, while others are reading. We will have some students learning numbers 1-10 and others working on addition and subtraction. This is a year of a wide range of skills.

Individual work not only helps a child develop their own skills, but allows us to foster our relationship with each student.  We truly enjoy these focused moments.  It also allows for continual assessment to ensure that each student is growing.
