Today we continued to use apples in our own exploration. After going to the apple orchard and reading books about apples, it was finally time to TASTE apples!
We tried five different varieties. Each student took their vote very seriously. Some students knew right away which apple was their favorite, while others had to take several samples to truly form an opinion. A few students had two that they liked almost the same. A few others did not really like any, and had to do a "but the one I can accept is...."
Our winners with each receiving seven votes were Sweet Tango and Honeycrisp. Granny Smith, Haralson, and Cortland all got a single vote each. We have pasted our votes onto a giant apple graph that will soon be hanging outside our classroom.
Don't be surprised if you are asked, "What is your favorite apple?"
